Early Life
Amelia was born in her grandmother’s house in Atchison, Kansas on July 24, 1898. Many people describe Amelia as a tomboy and did many adventurous things that most girls didn’t do at that time. Amelia also loved to see airplane shows with her dad which had influenced her to be a pilot. The first airplane show Amelia saw was at the Iowa State Fair in 1908. Amelia also loved inventing and making things, one of the things Amelia made is a mini roller coaster at her grandmother’s house, but of course she was told to put it away after she rode down it. Those are some of the events that happened in her early life.
